MATTA is a self-initiated digital concept, designed to redefine how locals and travelers engage with the outdoors. Moving away from dated, fragmented booking platforms, MATTA offers a curated ecosystem of high-end outdoor experiences—from fly fishing over bouldering to herb-picking. The platform combines a minimalist, editorial aesthetic with a seamless functional core.

Challenge & Objective

Modernizing the Alpine Aesthetic

Traditional outdoor platforms often feel cluttered and overly functional. The goal was to create a visual identity that feels clear, calm, and intentional. By using bold typography, generous whitespace, and high-quality imagery, the design shifts outdoor activity from a purely practical task to a more considered, lifestyle-driven experience.

Streamlining Complex Discovery:

The aim was to take away the seriousness, complexity, and stiffness often associated with outdoor sports culture and make it feel more open and approachable. Through a more inviting visual language — combining modern typography, expressive imagery, and a clear interface — the experience shifts away from pressure and toward exploration, community, and shared experience.

Creating a Holistic Ecosystem

Most platforms stop at the booking confirmation. MATTA’s objective was to bridge the gap between the digital booking and the physical experience. By integrating curated gear recommendations and branded merchandise directly into the user journey, the platform becomes a one-stop-shop for the entire adventure lifecycle.

Branding

Immersive Experience Showcasing

The heart of MATTA is the experience page. Rather than just listing dates and prices, the layout uses an editorial approach to tell a story. Detailed itineraries, "Level" indicators, and high-impact photography give users a tangible feel for the adventure. The booking interface is designed to be "mobile-first," ensuring that even on the train to the mountains, securing a spot is only a few taps away.

Beyond the Booking: The Gear Cross-Over

To add value to the user and create additional revenue streams for the brand, I designed an integrated e-commerce layer. Users don't just book a climbing trip; they are presented with the specific equipment needed for that terrain—ranging from technical multi-tools to MATTA-branded apparel. This creates a cohesive brand universe where the digital platform prepares the user for the physical world.
